Far Horizons adheres to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We are committed to protecting the privacy of any personal information collected on, or on behalf of our clients, partners and suppliers. The 10 governing principles are as follows:

Far Horizons is responsible for the protection of personal information and the fair handling of it at all times, throughout the organization and in dealing with third parties. We understand that care in collecting, using and disclosing personal information is essential to continued confidence and good will from our clients, partners and suppliers. A Privacy Officer has been designated to ensure compliance with federal legislation and this policy.

Far Horizons will identify the purposes for which information is collected at or before the information is collected.

Consent

By disclosing personal information to Far Horizons, you consent to the collection, storage and processing of your personal information by Far Horizons as governed by PIPEDA and this policy.

Limiting Collection

Far Horizons limits the collection of personal information to that which is necessary.

Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention

Far Horizons will use or disclose personal information only for the purpose for which it was collected, unless the individual consents, or the use or disclosure is authorized by the law. Personal information is kept only as long as necessary to satisfy the purpose of information collected, after which time it’s destroyed.

Accuracy

Far Horizons will keep personal information as accurate, complete and up to date as necessary, taking into account its use and the interests of the individual.

Safeguards

Far Horizons will protect personal information collected against loss or theft, including unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. This applies to all formats in which the information may be held.

Openness

Far Horizons believes in transparency relating to its Privacy Policy. Clients, Partners, Suppliers and staff may contact our Privacy Officer with any concerns or questions relating to the management of personal information.

Individual Access

Upon request, an individual shall be informed of the existence, use, and disclosure of his or her personal information and shall be given access to that information. An individual shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.
